Carsten K. Rath

Carsten Rath has more than twenty years experience in the international luxury hotel and tourism industry. The daily newspaper "Die Welt" calls him the "rock star among the Grand Hoteliers" - he is a successful entrepreneur.

Carsten K. Rath completed classic vocational training in hotel management. Later on he studied business administration at the Hotel Management Academy in Koblenz while working at the same time as F&B Director at Hotel Kempinski Taschenbergpalais in Dresden. Throughout his previous professional carrier, the Diplom-Betriebswirt (FH - MBA equivalent) worked in internationally renowned luxury hotels from Kempinski to The Ritz Carlton on four different continents, where he held managerial roles in different areas.

He demonstrated his management and leadership competency in different roles during the openings of top-class luxury hotels. This included for example the Hotel Grande Roche in Paarl near Kapstadt, the Kempinski Hotel Bejing Lufthansa Centre, the Kempinski Hotel Taschenbergpalais in Dresden, the Kempinski Hotel Adlon in Berlin, the Hotel Kempinski The Bentley in London and the The Ritz- Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.

Next, he worked for three years as president and CEO of the Arabella Hotel Holding International and assumed at the same the role of chairman of the Arabella Starwood Hotels & Resorts. In addition, he was a member of the executive management of the Schörghuber Group. Besides his activities in executive management, Carsten Rath was at that time also a member of the board of different international hotel and tourism companies, such as design hotels and aovo.

He is a member of the advisory board of Technical College Worms, where he also teaches, and University lecturer of the International University of Apllied Sciences in the Tourism department.

In 2006 Carsten Rath was honored as host of the year. In 2007 he was awarded the Innovation Prize of the German Tourism Industry. In 2011 he was honored as Hotel Manager of the Year.

In 2008 Carsten Rath founded his own company, the Lifestyle Hospitality & Entertainment Management AG, the CEO of which the 45-year-old entrepreneur is. The Lifestyle Hospitality & Entertainment Management AG is a management company for international lifestyle hotels and resorts, private residencces and event gastronomy.
