The political area was the first career field for Tijen Onaran. During her studies in Politics, History and Rights, she was a campaigner for a political Party.

In the age of 20 she was Candidate of the Liberal Party and got some experience as a speaker – after the candidacy Tijen worked for Members of the European and the National Parliament, and the Office of the Federal President.
Her Experiences in the Strategy of Campaigning, Public Relations and Community Management were helping here in her Position as the Head of Communications at the Quadriga University Berlin and at the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). After that, she worked for the largest online trade association in Europe, Händlerbund, as Head of Communications and officer manager in North Rhine-Westfalia.
In March 2015 Tijen founded a Networking Platform for Women at Politics, Economy and Media. In 2016 Women in Digital e.V. was founded, a non-profit organization for women in the digital economy. At the same time she founded startup affairs, an PR and Digital Agency for Companies.
Tijen writes Columns and Articles about Networking, Visibility, Digitalization and Career Topics for WirtschaftsWoche, Handelsblatt, WELT and other Newspapers. Since 2016 she is part of the Jury NEUMACHER from WirtschaftsWoche and part of the Jury Hackathon from Comdirect. Refinery29 elected Tijen as one of the most inspiring woman of Germany.
She is writing a book about "Networking the digital age" at Springer Gabler.
